The preliminary assessment pointed out that the ongoing works to put up a bridge across the Stony Athi River might have contributed to the flooding. Attempts to widen the river’s channel to save the bridge during heavy downpour released the deluge that washed away a section of Greenpark's perimeter wall and flooded a row of houses. The affected families were moved to different sections of the estate. Our engineers were engaged to make design changes to strengthen the perimeter wall and with the completion of the works on the bridge, we do not anticipate any flooding.
